Wilderness Trips will Continue in 2020
Four-week adventurers on the Long Trail, Summer 2019
During summer 2019, two-week and four-week campers embarked on wilderness adventure trips all over Vermont. Whether they were camping at Smugglers Notch State Park or backpacking gorgeous sections of the Long Trail, 107 campers experienced a wilderness adventure during their time at camp this past summer.
Summer 2020 promises more wilderness adventuring! Camp Hochelaga is excited to announce more session spots for two-week and four-week campers and more opportunities for campers to have immersive experiences in nature. Wilderness adventure trips help kids build teamwork skills, grow their self-confidence, practice resiliency, and deepen their friendships.
A Letter Home from Camp – Summer 2019
Hi Mom & Dad!! Hochelaga is going great! I took a shower so far. It’s always cold when you do it in the morning because people always use up the hot water. And my cabinmate is farting non-stop because she had refried beans at the salad bar. I miss my friend. I want her to come back. I will repeat the fact that packages cannot be larger than a shoe box, and no candy or they’ll take it away. Here’s what you can send: oreos, cheetos (pls send!!), fruit snacks, doritos, and more. Last time all the stuff I had I couldn’t eat. But I still appreciate it! I miss my cat. I want her now. My friend says hi. Bye for now!
PS. pls send a letter and I NEED THE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER!!

Big Things Are Happening at Camp This Fall
Existing Health House
Proposed layout for restored Poulin-Lavoie Health House
With deep appreciation and immense gratitude, we announce the launch of the foundation replacement and renovation work necessary to save the Health House. This $80,000 project is being funded in full by Barb Poulin and Blair Lavoie! After visiting Camp Hochelaga during the Centennial Celebration, Barb and Blair felt it was their time to give back and do what they can to keep camp strong for years. Camp Hochelaga has been near to Barb’s heart since she was a camper/counselor.
In honor of Barb and Blair’s generosity and their deep understanding of the Hochelaga Spirit, the newly renovated, structurally sound building will be known as the Poulin-Lavoie Health House.
Camp Hochelaga has already broken ground on this exciting and much needed project. The new Poulin-Lavoie Health House is on track to be completed and ready to support the medical needs of our campers and staff by June 1st, 2020.
Help Replace Camp’s Tennis Courts
Current clay tennis courts in need of replacement
Tennis and other sport courts have been a strong part of Camp Hochelaga programming since camp started in 1919. We need your help to keep this programming alive and thriving for our campers. Having positive experiences playing sports at camp can instill life-long passions for athleticism in girls that will support them in living healthy lives and developing healthy habits.
Give to This Project
Proposed new layout for sport court and sand volleyball court at Camp Hochelaga. Ground breaking will happen as soon as funds are raised!
